School Report - May 2008

The PTA would like to thank all those who purchased copies of the School Calendar. This raised £548.13 for the school funds. Thanks to her work in helping to produce the calendar, Glenys Harlow was named a Sainsbury’s Local Hero and awarded £200 through this scheme.

Sports relief activities resulted in sales of £248 worth of socks! and a further £159 in donations.

Back in February, pupils were treated to a concert by musicians from the Staffordshire Performing Arts. Music lessons are provided in school in brass, woodwind and violins. Numbers taking advantage of this facility has dwindled recently, if your family has a budding musician please contact the school office - tel: 01283 - 239 230.

In April a group of 17 pupils performed an excellent dance routine at The Brewhouse, whilst choir members sang at Birmingham Symphony Hall. At both these events the children’s behaviour was impeccable and they were excellent ambassadors for the school.

From Thursday 1 May at RW School, the Woolaston School of Dance & Drama will be holding weekly classes 16:00 till 17:00. Tel the school office for more info - 01283 - 239 230.

Attendance awards will be presented to those pupils who achieve 100 per cent attendance in a half term, with an extra award for each class which achieves 100 per cent.
