Enhancement Shield Award


This award is made annually to businesses which have done the most to improve the conservation area.

Pictured left is Cornmill Ceramics - winner of the 2005 enhancement shield.

The building has been greatly enhanced and provides a real welcome to visitors entering Tutbury via Lower High Street.

Pictured above is the Little Bridge Development by First Choice Properties of Chorley. This development was the 2002 winner of the enhancement shield. Chris Edwards (ESBC Conservation Officer at the time) stated in his findings that “the setting of the buildings is well handled - a commendable attempt and enhances the Conservation Area.
