The Tutbury Civic Society Maintenance Cup was introduced in 1996 to be awarded to owners of commercial property (within the conservation area) which, in the opinion of the judges was the best example of the maintenance of a property frontage during the previous year. |

In 1997, the Dog & Partridge Hotel underwent a refurbishment which involved the rebuilding of outbuildings, extension of the kitchen and an existing covered courtyard incorporated into the building itself. The proposals were supported by Tutbury Civic Society. |
