We would like to thank Shirley Henderson demonstrating her version of "Around the World in 8o Minutes", everyone seemed to enjoy her displays.

Most clubs in the area do not have demonstrators during August, so if your own club is not holding a meeting you are more than welcome to attend ours. The demonstrator is Beverly Artis her event will be titled "Pots of Style". This is a change to our calendar of events. Beverly is well accomplished and will no doubt be equally welcome.

The event takes place at Tutbury Institute on Wednesday 10th August at 7.30 PM. £4-00 payable on the door.

Some of our members joined Barton under Needwood Flower Club on their recent visit to Holme Pierrpont Hall, we had a most enjoyable day, there were some wonderful flower displays.

February 2016 update

As we are all sitting writing our reports on a cold wet day thinking is January ever going to come to an end or it stop raining, we do have a lot to look forward to. Spring is only just around the corner, I had my first bunch of daffodils last week, and it's always something to smile about as we walk into the supermarkets and see all the flowers for sale. We know that spring will soon be with us.

Of course the first event we have to look forward to is our demonstration which takes place at The Tutbury Institute commencing 7.30 pm. on Wednesday 10th February. This could be the first and perhaps last event for a number of the demonstrators taking part, chosen from members of our own committee. The display entitled "Anything Goes", may turn out to be just that but will no doubt be a lot of fun. Everyone is welcome to attend, you may be unlucky enough to win one of the displays in the nights raffle!

9th March will see a demonstration by Lynda Stamp entitled "Natures Fantasia" whilst on 13th April we will be holding a workshop.
We would love to see both old and new faces at our club, annual membership is £24.00 to include all workshops and demonstrations at The Institute, or £4.00 payable at the door per event. Visit us at www.tutburyflowerclub.com for more information on our club and events.

Planned events for  2015

Hopefully everyone will have enjoyed a Happy Christmas and can look forward to a prosperous 2015.

This year is a special year for us, our 25th anniversary, where we again will have a monthly mix of events featuring professional flower arranging displays and workshops. You are all welcome to attend simply to watch or, indeed, to take part regardless of skills. Just have a go and see, that’s how I started and I still remember some disasters, but it was fun nonetheless.

In 2014 the Club was pleased to have been chosen to provide floral arrangements for a number of celebration through the year, not least the 925 years of our own Priory Church of St. Marys, the Nottingham Cathedral Church of St.Barnabas Flower Festival and, more recently, Christmas at Sudbury Hall.

We held a number professional flower arranging displays at The Institute, all of which were enjoyed by Club members and guests. Mention must be made of our final annual open display at the Village Hall attended by over one hundred visitors from far and wide.

Ian Lloyd presented his “Cheshire Christmas” and he can now add Tutbury to his C.V. of flower arranging which includes stately homes, castles and cruise ships. Ian was excellent, his commentary funny and his displays startling. Our charity event also managed to raise £1,000 for the Midlands Air Ambulance and trips out included Hereford Cathedral Festival of Flowers and Gawsworth Hall’s Yuletide featuring internationally renowned flower designer Barry Grey.

Our thanks to everyone who attended our events and we look forward to welcoming you again in the forthcoming year at Tutbury Institute where our first demonstration on 11th February will feature Sharon Badger with her "Vision For The Future". On 11th March we have another demonstration this time by June Borrowdale, entitled “Serendipity”.
