On Sunday 18 May 2008, the Mayor’s Civic Service for the 17th Mayor of East Staffordshire Borough Council took place at The Priory Church of St Mary, Tutbury. The Mayor was accompanied by her Consort: Graham Morgan.

From its inception in 1956, this program continues to offer practical, cultural and adventurous activities for use by all agencies in a flexible way to harness the enthusiasm and aptitudes of young people from all backgrounds and cultures, and regardless of what resources they have to hand.

Harvey Girls

This is a voluntary sector based organisation to support pregnant young women under the age of 21. The overall aim is to provide information, support and guidance to young mothers in the 14 to 21 age group, to help address their social, economic, health, educational and general lifestyle needs through to full adult and parenthood - thereby enhancing their own and the the children’s well being, developing their parenting skills and at the same time helping to address many of the issues that affect young people.

This is a local charity that recruits and trains volunteers to help families with young children. The trained volunteers offer one to one support to parents who are having difficulties. This could include single parents as well as those affected by poverty, abuse, drugs, and social isolation. Also, families who are having difficulties suffering from post natal depression disability, bereavement and illness.
