TUTBURY MUSIC FESTIVAL 2010: Press release notes and outline information
TMF 2010 will be held at Tutbury Castle on Sunday 11th July beginning with a town crier and battlements fanfare at 10:30 am followed by bands, musical groups, choirs, dance and drama continuously until 10 pm. It will finish with a rousing finale by Derwent Brass and the Dalesmen Male Voice Choir.
The performers range from pre-school children to primary and secondary to semi-professional musicians of local, regional and national status - a total of over 600 musicians.
The event includes children’s entertainments, refreshments, a bar, demonstrations, free parking and 30 stalls of all kinds representing local voluntary groups and tradesmen (not car booter’s sorry!). All children will have free admission.
The whole day is managed by Tutbury Arts Group , a registered charity, with the help of dozens of local people.
It is hoped that the event will be supported by local businesses, Tutbury Parish Council, East Staffordshire Borough Council and Staffordshire County Council.
Free leaflets and posters will be circulated throughout the towns and 30 or so villages and hamlets of East Staffordshire nearer the time.
