May meeting: We resolve… |
On Thursday 31 members attended the meeting to discuss the resolutions. President Jackie West presented both resolutions and members voted for the resolution to ban deep sea bottom trawling. |

Do You Know Your Antiques? |
Several of us had trawled our attics for items for the antiques quiz and members formed teams to guess the value. Most of our guesses as to value were way off the mark and some items were very surprising. As someone said, there’s a market value, an insurance value and, perhaps the most important, a sentimental value that no one can afford. |

The lucky winners took home a box of biscuits each and, who knows, perhaps they will begin a new career with their eye for a bargain? |

We finished the night with everyone tucking in to a very welcome chip supper. |

Best Kept Village |
We managed to clean up the benches on the Triangle the previous week and they certainly look better. We will continue to litter-pick each week. Photo right shows bench on “the triangle” presented by Tutbury WI to mark NFWI Golden Jubilee: 1965. |
The next meeting is on Thursday 12 June at 7.30 p.m. at Tutbury Village Hall, Monk Street, Tutbury DE13 9NA, and the guest speaker will demonstrate icing techniques. |
We always welcome visitors, so come to the Village Hall between 7 and 7.30 PM. or contact our secretary, Carol Hall, on 01283 813161 or visit www.tutbury.org |
