Possible location sites in Tutbury

Cornmill Lane

As mentioned above, the preferred se for a youth play area (from the initial survey) was Cormill Lane. Young people chose this area above others because:

It is a large area of open space, capable of fitting equipment in, plus leaving plenty of space for other activities - dog walking for example.

There is already a ball court on the site, which may be used more if there were more facilities nearby

It is near to the youth club on Cornmill Lane, which many young people in Tutbury go to.

Tutbury Mill

This is owned and managed by East Staffordshire Borough Council and is an alternative area for a youth play facility. It is second choice to Cornmill Lane because:

It is near a main road and busy roundabout

It is on the edge of the village, close to Hatton

There is not as much space as Cornmill Lane, therefore any facility built will not have as much equipment.

Park Pale

This is not an option as it is small, surrounded by houses and has a junior play area on it already

Ferrers Avenue Playing Field

The lease Tutbury Parish Council have with the Duchy of Lancaster for this site states that no recreational facilities can be built on it. This will be investigated further.
